Carol Carnley Moe, 77, of Vancleave passed away on Friday, February 26, 2016 surrounded by her beloved family.
Carol was born February 2, 1939 in George County to John and Tessola Carnley. She was the youngest of six children. Raised in Ocean Springs and a longtime resident of Vancleave. Carol was always surrounded by her family and friends. People were her passion and this was evident by every person who encountered Carol’s warmth, love and laughter.
Carol married her loving husband, Fred on August 17, 1957 where they were active members of their church, The Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Vancleave. Carol served as the church Treasurer, a steward of Zions League, the music director of Vacation Bible School, sang in the Choir, and actively participated in all church functions.
Carol’s hobbies included playing volleyball for the Sunsetters in Vancleave, playing the piano, writing short stories, painting, sewing, spending summers on the houseboat, and most importantly being with her family. No one met Carol and walked away without a smile or warm hug.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, John and Tessola Carnley, three sisters, Aubrey Overstreet, Audrey Carnley and Faye Pannell; two brothers, Jerry and Jack Carnley; and two nephews.
Carol is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Fred Moe; her only son, Kenny (Melanie) Moe; two grandchildren, Timmy (Jennie) Moe and Tara (Tommy) Phelan; one great granddaughter, Caroline Moe; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 11:00am at The Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints in Vancleave. Visitation will be one hour prior to services.Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home, Ocean Springs Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
