Carolyn "Mema" Horne Faulk

Carolyn “Mema” Horne Faulk, 88, of Biloxi, Mississippi passed away on Friday, April 3rd, 2026 in Gulfport, Mississippi. Carolyn was born Ruby Carolyn Horne on December 29th, 1937 to her parents, Talmadge and Vela Mae Horne in Barbour County, Alabama. In addition to her parents, Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband Willie Gene Faulk, daughter Dr. Sheree L. Watson, grandson Joseph Watson, brother Robert Dean Horne, and sister Annette Horne Fenn.

Carolyn married the love of her life, Willie Gene Faulk, in 1955. Gene’s 22-year Air Force career took them around the United States and they eventually landed in Biloxi where they resided for well over fifty years, raised their two children, and made lifelong friends. Carolyn was everyone’s “Mema.” She played a role in raising hundreds of children throughout her 30-year career as a childcare provider at Keesler AFB Child Development Center and Watch Me Grow. She had a natural eye for beauty and home decorating, and she loved gardening and tending to her flowers, especially her prized roses. Best known for her quick wit, hilarious storytelling, and unfaltering memory, her irresistible energy filled every room she entered, and her absence will leave a lasting void.

Carolyn is survived by her son Stewart G. Faulk (Tommie); brother Doyle Horne; grandchildren Heather Baack (Curtis), Cameron Faulk, and Lindsey Watson; great-grandchildren Nolan Baack (Claudia) and Jordan Hoover (Luke); and great-great-grandchildren Teresa Baack, Nicolas Baack, and Jack Hoover.

Funeral Services will take place at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 2511 Pass Road, Biloxi, MS 39531 on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at 10:15 am. Friends may visit from 9:30 am until service time. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery where Carolyn will be laid to rest with Gene.
