Carolyn Lassabe, age 78, of Long Beach, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 9, 2026.

Carolyn, a native of the Gulf Coast and member of First Baptist Church of Long Beach, loved the Lord and enjoyed working with children. As her children were in school, she volunteered as a leader of 4-H clubs and chaperoned for the Long Beach band amongst many other volunteer opportunities. Carolyn retired from the Long Beach School District as an assistant and substitute teacher.

Carolyn enjoyed her time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved to go on trips to visit relatives and adventure to new areas to discover the beauty of God’s creation. She made an impression upon everyone she met and would stop and pray with you in the moment and for you every day. Carolyn touched so many lives in everything she did and was a true blessing to all who knew her.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Kenneth; and survived by their children, Kenneth Ray (Becky) Lassabe, Jr. and Karen (James “Jimmy”) Sears; her 7 grandchildren: Jenny, Kayla (Dallas), Kimberlee, Courtney, Alex (Daisy), Sam and Jaylan (Erin); and her 14 great grandchildren (Savannah (Josh), Brianna, Caylon, Lily, Jayden, Aubrey, Liam, Delilah, Eleanor, Cooper, Oliver, Eva, Manny and Lemon).

She was also preceded in death by her parents, Juanita Yarbrough and Eugene H. Latimer and siblings, Grady F. Carden, Sr., Bobby L. Carden, Sr., Louis “Pete” Latimer, II, Tommy Numnum, Jesse L. Yarbrough, Jr., Sandra “Sandy” Gruich, and Jeffrey Latimer.

Survivors also include her siblings, Joe (Linda) Carden, Marie Dudash, Hubert Yarbrough, Debbie (Dennis) Gara, Janice (Bobby) Schultz, Rosie (George) Carr, Marilyn Curtis, and Albert (Jenna) Latimer.

Carolyn’s memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her and we will dearly miss her and the life lessons and prayers she imparted to us. She will forever be remembered by her loved ones, which include many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and a host of friends.
