Catherine "Kay" Brochard

Catherine “Kay” Brochard went home to the Lord on Saturday, May 23, 2026. She passed peacefully with family by her side. 

Kay was born on March 14th, 1945, in Biloxi, MS to Steve and Paula Trebotich. She proudly graduated as a Biloxi Indian, Class of 1964. While she always hoped to marry Ricky Nelson (musician/actor), after school Kay met Thomas Brochard, who quickly became the love of her life. After they married, Kay and Thomas later made their home in Ocean Springs, where they built a beautiful life and family. Together they raised three children—a daughter, Diana, and twin sons, Ronald and Donald.

Kay loved dancing, playing cards & bingo, going to Cruisin' The Coast, and listening to anything considered “oldies.” If you knew Kay, you knew that when she heard music, she was up dancing without a care in the world. She had a gift for making people laugh, feel welcomed, and feel loved.

Kay devoted much of her time to the Ladies Auxiliary Knights of Columbus and the French Club. She truly enjoyed helping others and never hesitated to lend a hand when someone needed it.

She is survived by her children, Diana (Tommy) McGuire, Donald (Cathy) Brochard, and Ronald Brochard; her grandchildren, Brandon (Katelyn) McGuire, Sean (Brianna) McGuire, and Alexis (Andrew) Bird; and her treasured great-granddaughter, Haven McGuire. She also leaves behind many loving family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Thomas Brochard; and her brother, Roland Trebotich.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Home Instead, Crystal’s Place, Bradford O’Keefe, St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, and Pentecostal Gulf Coast Church for the love, care, and kindness shown to Kay and her family.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 27, from 11am until 12 pm, with a 12 pm Mass of Christian Burial, all at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Ocean Springs. Burial will be on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at 9:00am at the Biloxi National Cemetery.
