Charlene Rutland

Mrs. Charlene Rutland, age 75, of Biloxi, MS died Saturday, May 11, 2019 in Ocean Springs. Mrs. Rutland was born January 14, 1944 in Seminary, MS. She attended Jones County Junior College. She was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family. She loved her grandchildren greatly. Mrs. Rutland is preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Ina Thaxton; and siblings, Betty Kelly and Wayne Thaxton. Survivors include her husband, James “Jimmy” Rutland; children, Dana (Roy) Gill and Greg (Cindy) Rutland; grandchildren, Anna and Brandon Gill; sister, Dorothy (Billy) Morris; and a host of nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to be made to First Baptist Church of Ocean Springs, 602 Washington Avenue, Ocean Springs MS 39564. Services will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Ocean Springs. Friends may visit from 9:30 a.m. until service time. Interment will take place at 3pm in Willow Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins, MS. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
