Charles E. Carr

Mr. Charles E. Carr, age 93, of Ocean Springs, MS, passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2019. Mr. Carr was a longtime resident of Ocean Springs. He was born on February 11, 1925, in Sapulpa, OK. Charlie, as everyone, knew him, served in the U.S. Navy from 1942-1945, where he was stationed in Florida as an aircraft mechanic trainer. He moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast in the 1970s where he and his beautiful wife, Joy, enjoyed life along the gulf coast. Charlie primarily worked the oil industries of Oklahoma, Illinois, Missouri and Ohio and was very innovative in production of oil and gas in the 50's and 60's. Mr. Carr was preceded in death by the love of his life, Joy Carr and his mother and father, Arrah and Frederick Carr. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 24, from 4pm until 7pm, with a 7pm Memorial Service, all at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers we prefer donations be made to the Jackson County Animal Shelter in his honor.
