Charles Gill Miller, 78, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2017 in Ocean Springs.
Mr. Miller was born in New Orleans, LA on May 17, 1939 to Charlotte and Ray C. Miller. He was a Vietnam Veteran, serving in the U.S. Air Force for 26 years. Mr. Miller received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology and his Master’s Degree in Counseling and Psychology from William Carey University. After his military career, he was employed with Crawford & Co. and the Social Security Administration as a Vocational Rehabilitation Consultant. He was a Knights of Columbus 4th Degree and a member of Pi Gamma Mu Society. Mr. Miller received the Paul Harris Fellow Recognition. He was also secretary for the Edgewater Rotary for over 20 years, served as Rotary District 6840 Secretary for over 20 years and served on the board for the Boys and Girls Club of the Gulf Coast. He enjoyed raising Orchids, he loved baseball (especially the Braves) and visiting Disney World anytime he could.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Charlotte Miller; his sons, Gill Miller, Marcus Miller and Glenn Miller; and his sister, Betty Bennett.
Mr. Miller’s survivors include his wife, Nora Kathleen Miller; his daughter, Belinda Miller (Keith Eugene) Remley; and his grandchildren, Katy, Brianna, Christine, Claire, Kyle, Taylor, CJ and JT.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations be made to the Knights of Columbus Council 10499, 4900 Riley Road, Ocean Springs, MS 39564.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 11:00 am. Friends may visit from 10:00 am until mass time. A reception at Fannon Hall will follow immediately after the mass. Interment will be held at Biloxi National Cemetery on Monday, June 12, 2017 at 12:30 pm.
