Charles Ray Yost, Sr., age 73, passed away in Oceans Springs, MS on Saturday, June 11, 2016.
Charles worked for Rex Distributing Co. and retired after 42 years as an area sales manager. He was a passionate Bass fisherman and never missed a NASCAR race. On Tuesdays, you could find him hanging out with “the gang” in Gulfport. Saturdays during football season were dedicated to Alabama “Roll Tide” football and Sundays were for his beloved Saints. He was a member of Christus Victor Lutheran Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Mary Yost; and his fishing buddy, Bryant Quave.
Charles is survived by his loving wife of 50+ years, Charlotte Galle Yost; one son, Charles Ray (Siobhan) Yost, Jr.; one daughter, Angela Yost (David) McMurphy; four precious grandchildren, Bailee (Ryan) Bradley, Colby Raye McMurphy, Evan David McMurphy and Charles Ray “Trey” Yost, III; and his brother, Freddie (Sheila) Yost. The girls were his “angels” and the boys were his “dudes”.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Brian Persing and the staff at the Regional Cancer Center, and the nurses of 2 East Ocean Springs Hospital. The family also wishes to thank the family and friends who supported them with visits and prayers.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
The Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at 12:30 p.m., with visitation from 11 a.m. until service time at Christus Victor Lutheran Church, 2755 Bienville Blvd., Ocean Springs, MS 39564.
The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
