Charlotte Ann Lindsay

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Charlotte Lindsay. She took the hand of our Lord to be guided to her eternal home on Thursday, July 10, 2025.

Charlotte Ann Delapp entered this world on November 1, 1943, to her loving parents Evelyn M. Duggan DeLapp and Forrest W. DeLapp Sr. She was blessed with three siblings that came after her. After her birth, baby Charlotte was cared for by her much-loved grandparents Dora Ross Duggan and Charlie Duggan with the eager assistance of their youngest child, Melonie, who was at just the right age for Charlotte to be her real-life babydoll. From this, Mom and Aunt Mel shared a special bond. Not to mention the deep love she had for her grandparents. Mom’s dad was a captain in the U.S. Air Force. Her parents, being newlyweds and being assigned out of state was the reason she was left for awhile in the loving care of her grandparents at their request. Her childhood was spent in several states as the family went wherever her dad was stationed, but Biloxi was always home. Mom’s Uncle Charles and Aunt Gladys were also her godparents. On one of those trips back to Biloxi her godparents made sure that she made her First Confession and her Confirmation in the Catholic Church.

Mom went on to graduate high school in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Shortly afterwards they moved back to Biloxi where she met and married the father of her three daughters. Although their marriage did not last, she received three of her most treasured blessings… her daughters. Many years later, in fact 20 years after her first daughter was born, she received her fourth much wanted and treasured blessing… her one and only son, Michael Joseph Lindsay. He was also a blessing to his 3 adoring sisters and his dad (deceased). We will always be so grateful for Michael and his wife, Magan and their son Michael Jr. who have lived with and lovingly cared for our mother for years. Because of this she was able to remain in her own home until she took her final breath.

Preceding her in death were her parents, grandparents, siblings Forrest Jr., Joel, and Bridget, and numerous other relatives and friends including a very special woman who she loved like a mother, Margueritte Chevalier and a son-in-law who she loved like a son, John Allen. In addition to a very special lady who looked out for her 3 daughters while she worked 2 and 3 jobs to support them, Sue Cheskevick.

Charlotte is survived by her 3 daughters, Claire Coleman and her husband Bobby who she loved like a son, and Dianna Turner, and Sabrina Allen, and her only son, Michael and his wife Magan, who she loved like a daughter and her 3 adored grandchildren Dana Rasmussen, Ashley Mattina, (Ashley ‘s dad, Nick Mattina, who Mom loved dearly), and Michael Lindsay Jr. Also surviving her is Mom's beloved Aunt Melonie Duggan Raymond, and each and every one of her loving first cousins and their families, a very special niece Dawn, and numerous other nieces and nephews and friends and neighbors. She truly and deeply loved each and every one of you, even strangers who briefly crossed paths with her.

The family would like to give special thanks to Father Ryan of St. James Catholic Church in Gulfport. She loved you and you meant the world to her.

Also, our heartfelt thanks go to Roberta from bible study and her home physical therapists Mike and Steven and all the other wonderful healthcare providers. Thank you to everyone for loving her. There are so many more. Trust that we know who each of you are and please know that we are truly forever grateful for all of you.

We hope and pray that each of you will go out and be a light in this world and treat each other with love, kindness, and respect just how our wonderful mother lived her life. Pray for peace on earth. Much love to each of you.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in D’Iberville, MS, 39540. Friends may visit one hour prior. Interment will follow at D’Iberville Memorial Park Cemetery.
