Christina Danielle Tisbury

• Christina Danielle Tisbury, age 40, of Gautier, Mississippi, passed away on March 4, 2026.

Christy was known for being compassionate, selfless, and deeply devoted to her family. Born premature with cerebral palsy, she overcame many obstacles throughout her life. Despite the challenges she faced, Christy chose to live with positivity and became an inspiration to those closest to her.

Christy cherished time spent with her beloved Granny Jo, accompanying her to many activities through the VFW and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Attending the draw-downs with family was amongst her most favorite activities, along with Ice Cream Socials, Christmas Wrapping for the veterans and playing bingo.

She loved her online community which was a large part of her daily life. She loved to play Fortnite with her brother, nephew and best friend. She recently began live-streaming on Twitch. She could whole heartedly be herself and be accepted when she was behind the keyboard.

Christy treasured time spent with her family and looked forward to every opportunity to be together. She loved Mardi Gras parades, annual family reunions, Fourth of July gatherings, family birthday celebrations and visiting with everyone she could. She especially enjoyed Granny Jo’s Thanksgiving and Christmas parties, creating memories that her family will always hold close.

She is survived by her mother, Dana Bassham; father, Willie Bassham; her brothers, Kaleb Bassham (Brittnay) and Anthony Bassham; her dear friend, Christina Inglett; her paternal grandmother, Tina Torgusen; maternal grandfather, Danny Mashburn; her aunts and uncles, Sandra (Paul Jeane) Denise Tisbury, Curtis (Brandi) Wade Tisbury Sr., Betty Ann Johnson, Geraldine “Dean” Cummings, Vester Bassham (Sunny), Peggy Broadus, and Julie Madden; as well as many cousins, extended family members, and friends who will miss her deeply.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Jo Ann “Granny Jo” Tisbury; maternal grandfather, William Levonne Tisbury Sr. and paternal grandfather, William “Bill” Torgusen; aunt, Vera Louise Jordan; and uncle, William “Bill” Levonne Tisbury Jr.

A memorial service to celebrate Christy’s life will be held Wednesday March 25, 2026 with details to be shared with family and friends.
