Cindy Hill, formerly of Biloxi, MS, passed away on the morning of May 9, 2025 in her Pass Christian home that she designed, surrounded by those she loved. She was 71 years old.
Cindy was the matriarch of a big family that she built on love, it included her husband of 52 years, 3 daughters, 12 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. She was loved by many people and had friends that cherished her all over the world.
Cindy grew up on the shores of the Back Bay in Biloxi, MS and loved anything related to the water and the sea. She enjoyed swimming, something she learned from her grandfather, and sailing at the Biloxi Yacht Club. Her love for the sea and adventure continued when she married her soul mate, Lawrence. They travelled to areas like Jamaica, Key West, Belize, Guatemala, and the Bahamas. They also had a trimaran sailboat that they sailed almost every week. Her love for the sea and all things nautical is depicted in her home that she designed and decorated. She has sea-faring décor everywhere and a real teak wood sailboat mounted in different places throughout the house.
Cindy had many talents and wore many hats. For most of her life, she was a caregiver and homemaker to her family, including her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She gave freely of her time and felt that a loving family foundation was important in the lives of the children she helped to raise. Cindy also was a talented musician and loved singing and playing music professionally with her husband. She even joined her husband and daughter in playing in the Navigators band as a percussionist and singer for many years. Cindy worked as a prosthetic/orthotic technician for 10 years in the family owned business of JJ Hill Brace and Limb Company where she took pride in helping people. Like her parents before her, Cindy was a talented artist often drawing, wood burning, or sculpting items. She was very proud of her artistic creations and displayed and sold them under the Trademark of “Creative Heirlooms”.
Cindy was unconventionally intelligent and would read and research interesting subjects until she an expert. She was effortlessly humorous and could light up a room with her laughter. Cindy had many hobbies and interests, her most passionate was her spirituality and relationship with Jesus Christ. She studied many books on the life, love, and teachings of Jesus and read the Bible in its entirety three times. She was determined to spread the word of Christ to whoever would listen. She worked as an administrator on several Facebook pages that helped spread the word of Love and Light worldwide.
Cindy was very interested in aliens and paranormal phenomena and was never ashamed or afraid to voice her knowledge (which was plentiful) on the subjects. Cindy enjoyed the outdoors. She loved camping and birdwatching especially with her family and friends. Her main focus in her life was love and her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her legacy is one of love and devotion for that family.
Cindy is preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth (Bill) McQuillan and Richard Porterfield and her oldest daughter, Michelle Laurèn Hill.
