Clarence Ward, Jr.

Clarence Ward, Jr., 84, of Gulfport, MS passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2023 in Gulfport.

Mr. Ward was born in Greenwood, MS to Clarence Ward, Sr. and Mattie Silas-Ward.  He served in the US Army and was employed as a truck driver.  He was a member of the Elks Lodge for many years.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his children Patricia “Faye” Selph and Angela Ward-Moss; and his siblings, Lottie M. Ward, Marilyn Ward-Murff, Mary A. Ward, Isaac Ward, Oatis “Tom” Ward and Raymond Ward.

Mr. Ward is survived by his wife Maggie McCall-Ward; his children, Glenn Elliott, Cedric Ward and Clarissa Ratcliff; eleven grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and 3 siblings.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Light for their care of Mr. Ward.

The funeral service will be Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Progressive Baptist Church, 3113 20^th Street, Gulfport, MS 39501.  Friends may visit beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the church.
