Claudia Engbarth Eyer Perley, 80, a lifelong resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026, and entered into the eternal arms of her Lord and Savior.
Claudia lived a life rooted in faith, family, and service. She was deeply devoted to her community and was always actively involved in the lives and schools of her sons, Robert Eyer and John Perley. Her generous spirit and love for the arts were especially evident through her special involvement with Center Stage Productions. Claudia also dedicated her time to civic service as a member of the Junior Chamber (Jaycees) and served on the board of Community Action of Mississippi, working tirelessly to uplift those around her.
Creativity and hard work were hallmarks of Claudia’s life. She found great joy in renovating homes, transforming spaces with care and vision, and she was an avid gardener who delighted in nurturing beauty from the soil. These passions reflected her ability to see potential everywhere and her love of building things meant to last.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude Engbarth and Mae Anderson Engbarth Farese.
Claudia is survived by her beloved sons: Robert Eyer and his spouse, Rachael, of Hendersonville, North Carolina, and John Perley and his wife, Tosha, of Saucier, Mississippi. She leaves behind a large and cherished family of grandchildren: David, Trevor, Spencer, Ryan, Selena, Alyssa, Brenna, Jeremy, Danielle, DJ, Emily, Braxton, Rina, and Nathaniel; and great-grandchildren: Thaddeus, Michael, Elliana, and Theo.
Claudia will always be remembered as a loving and devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, and true friend. She deeply valued her family and the friendships she was blessed with, cherishing every moment spent with those she loved. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication to others will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Private family services will be held.
