CMSgt Richard A. Nell, Sr., USAF, ret., 79, of Biloxi, MS died on Tuesday, May 10, 2011. Mr. Nell was a native of Michigan and a longtime resident of the MS Gulf Coast. He retired from the USAF after 21 years of service. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred Nell and Clara Struth; two sisters, Merideth Rawls and Ruby Jo Struth. Mr. Nell is survived by his wife of 57 years, Birdie Mae Skinner Nell; son, Richard A. (Vanessa) Nell, Jr.; brother, Phillip (Judy) Nell; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The family would like to thank the St. Joseph Hospice and the staff of Settlers Cove Personal Care Home. Funeral services will be on Monday, May 16, 2011 at 12:30 p.m. at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Biloxi. Friends may visit from 11:30 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery with full military honors.
