Cynthia Jean Seward Green passed away peacefully in her home in Vancleave, MS on August 3rd, 2025, around sunrise, her favorite time of day… a reflection of the sunshine she radiated. Cindy was born in Laredo, TX on April 22, 1959, into a military family. She lived in Okinawa, Japan, Hawaii, and eventually settled in Ocean Springs, MS. Cindy attended MGCCC and earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing at The University of South Alabama. She worked for almost 20 years at Singing River Hospital System in MICU and Nurse Education, which became a passion. In time, she returned to USA to earn a master’s degree in nursing with a focus on Acute Critical Care. Next, she worked as a Nurse Practitioner with Dr. Eva Magiros at Coast Cardiovascular Consultants for 13 years. Cindy attained a reputation for being an extremely knowledgeable, compassionate, and caring individual. In time, she brought her skills to work for the Veteran Affairs, VA, in Biloxi, MS until the present.
In addition to her love for her family, Cindy always had a love for animals. Dogs, Cats, Goats, possums, armadillos, you name it, she loved them all. Another love was an appreciation for art. Her mother, Norma, was an avid artist and member of the Ocean Springs Art Association. Many of Norma’s fine works, along with paintings by many local artists, adorn the walls of Cindy’s home.
Cindy’s passing is preceded by her parents, Joe and Norma Seward. She is survived by her husband Daniel Green, her brother Joe Seward III, and her sister Dixie Seward.
Cindy’s service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Ocean Springs on Tuesday, August 12th, 2025. Visitation is from 1:00 to 2:00 with the service from 2:00 to 3:00. There will not be a graveside event as Cindy’s wish was to be cremated and have her ashes sprinkled on the home property in Vancleave, the place she dearly loves.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society or any research institution.
Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Cynthia Jean Seward Green.
