Darrell "Trent" Broome

January 13, 1966 — January 2, 2025

Darrell “Trent” Broome, 58, of St. Martin, MS, went into the arms of the Lord on January 2, 2025. He was born in Petal, MS to the late Alice Tyner Maloney and Floyd Daniel Broome on January 13,1966.

He attended St. Martin High School and worked in the construction industry for over 30 years, sometimes alongside his dad and brothers, with most of his work experience as a master carpenter specializing in finish carpentry and brick laying. During his construction career and life journey, he worked and lived in many locations, including California, Hawaii, Louisiana, Texas, Montana, Michigan and Mississippi.

He is preceded in death by both his parents, Alice and Floyd; and sister-in-law, Christina D. Davis. He is survived by his two children, Michelle Lyn and Daniel Seth; two older brothers, Jimmy “Buddy” Davis and Vinson Ray Broome; nephews, Dakota Broome, Jesse Davis and Jack Vining; niece-in-law, Rene’e Davis; as well as many aunts, uncles, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

He was very passionate about music, and not just listening, but also singing. Music was more than just entertainment for him, he used the power of music, or more specifically the lyrics, as a way of inspiration and expression. Of course, his favorite music was rock, but he was also a big fan of country and Christian music. He also enjoyed watching college and pro football, with the Saints as his favorite team since he was a young boy.

Those who knew Trent will remember him as hard working, strong, and protective of his loved ones. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family and friends but know that he is at peace.

A special thank you for the wonderful help and care given by his Aunt Wanda, Uncle Bob and cousin, Jean Odom.

A gathering to honor Trent will be held at his brother’s home at a date to be determined.

Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Darrell “Trent” Broome.
