David A. Cates

David A. Cates, 89, of D’Iberville, MS passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2016 in D’Iberville. Mr. Cates was a native and lifelong resident of the Cedar Lake area of Biloxi. He was a U.S. Army WWII Veteran and retired from Civil Service at Keesler Air Force Base after 29 years of service. Mr. Cates was a member of Cedar Lake UMC. He is preceded in death by his mother, Dove Cates Hudson; and his sister, Mary Ella Cates. Mr. Cates’ survivors include his daughter, Katherine (Larry) Cates-Banquer; his two step-sons, Lane Greenwood and Stanley (Cherie) Parish, Sr.; his grandson, Cody Wayne Cates; and other siblings, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at Cedar Lake UMC on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at 1:00 pm. Friends may visit from 12:00 pm until service time. Interment will follow at White Plains UMC Cemetery. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
