David G. Desporte, age 64, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 10, 2025. Born on August 15, 1961, in Biloxi, Mississippi, David lived a life marked by dedication and love. For the past year, he made his home in Milton, Florida, choosing to be closer to the family he deeply cherished.
The avid hunter and fisherman, David found joy and peace in the outdoors. Whether casting a line or tracking through the woods, he embraced every opportunity to connect with nature. But above all, David’s greatest pride and joy was his family—his children and especially his grandchildren, who brought him a sense of pride and happiness.
David served his country with honor for 12 years in the United States Army. After his service, he continued a life of commitment and care through his long career with the Department of Veterans Affairs, retiring from Administrative Services. His dedication to helping fellow veterans was a reflection of his character: loyal, dependable, and selfless.
He is preceded in death by his parents, David L. Desporte and Sharon K. Uren; and by his sisters, Terrie (Desporte) White and Michelle Desporte.
He is survived by his loving children: daughter, Chantel Desporte, and sons, Chris Desporte (Kristi Desporte) and Bradley Desporte (Britney Desporte). He also leaves behind his adored grandchildren, Devon Desporte, Abigail Desporte, David Noah Desporte, Dominic Desporte, and Connor Desporte. His legacy lives on through them—each carrying a piece of his heart.
