David Klyce Hall

David Klyce Hall, 95, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016 in Ocean Springs, MS. David was born in Halls, TN to Arva Marie (Jordan) and Harry Arnold Hall. He attended the University of TN before joining the Army Air Corp (Captain) and later transferring to the US Air Force. He served his country for 31 years participating in WWII as a B-25 and B-26 pilot. He re-enlisted in the Air Force after WWII as a Master Sergeant and was responsible for air support to the US Marines during the Korean Conflict. Prior to retirement from the military in 1971 as Command Chief Master Sergeant and NCO-IC of Base Operations and Training at Keesler AFB, he attended USM to obtain his Masters Degree in education. He was employed by the Biloxi Public School District in 1971 as a teacher at Popp’s Ferry Elementary and retired as Principal in 1981 of DuKate Elementary on Howard Avenue. David was an active member of the American Legion, VFW, Retired Officers Assn, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Assn and a Master Mason and member of Magnolia Lodge, F & AM and a member of Beauvoir United Methodist Church in Biloxi. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 51 years and the mother of his children, Betty Ruth (Lyon) Hall; his sister, Kathleen Simms of Memphis, TN; and his brother, Harry J. “Boots” Hall of Huntsville, AL. David is survived by his current wife, Annette Liggin Hall; and his four children, David Jeffrey (Barbara) Hall of Frisco, TX, Stephen Duane Hall of Inman, SC, Karrol (Larry) Sovell of Success Community, MS and Holly (Wayne) McFall of Biloxi, MS; 10 grandchildren; 17 (plus one on the way) great-grandchildren; and his sister, Hope (Gary) Proctor of Nashville, TN. His children would like to thank the staff of Brookdale, Biloxi, Dr. Motakhaveri and staff of Biloxi and Kare Med of Ocean Springs for making his later years safe, comfortable and happy. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the charity of your choice in his memory or to Beauvoir United Methodist Church, 2113 Pass Road, Biloxi, MS 39531. A Memorial Celebration will be held at Beauvoir United Methodist Church in Biloxi on Friday, October 14, 2016 at 11:00 am. Friends may visit from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
