David Maury Duncan

David "Big Bird" Maury Duncan, 65, of Vancleave, MS, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, August 15, 2011. David was a longtime resident of Vancleave and retired from Ingall's Shipbuilding in 2007 with 35 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. David was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vancleave, Keith Cowart's Sunday School Class, and loved and served God. He was also a loving and caring father. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Sandra Duncan; daughter, Lisa Duncan; son, John (Ashley) Duncan; mother, Wendall Sanders; brothers, George Sanders, John Owen (Becky) Sanders, and Riley (Vickie) Sanders; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Vancleave. On Thursday, August 18, 2011 there will be a 10 am church service where friends may visit from 9 am until 10 am. Interment will follow at the Vancleave #1 Cemetery. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
