Delores Yvonne "Lochie" Turner

Delores Yvonne “Lochie” Turner, age 86, of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 2, 2026.

Delores was born on January 21, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois, to Jessie and Bonita Walker. She enjoyed a long and fulfilling career with AT&T, where she worked for many years as a supervisor. Known for her dedication and strong work ethic, she was a respected leader and mentor until her retirement.

Affectionately known as Lochie, Delores had a heart of gold and loved her family deeply. Though she could fuss from time to time, her words always carried wisdom and strength, leaving those who listened with a better perspective. She enjoyed trips to the casino and never went without her beloved Marlboro cigarettes.

Delores shared a loving and devoted relationship with her late husband, Robert Gordon. Since his passing, she carried a special space in her heart for him that could never be filled.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Gordon; her parents, Jessie and Bonita Walker; her brothers, Anthony “Sonny” and William “Bill”; and her granddaughter, Deidre.

Delores leaves to cherish her memory her three sisters, Iris Easton, Minnie Shabazz, and Patricia Hill; her children, Rory Brown, Keith Turner, and Dina Thomas, daughter-in love Trully Turner; her grandchildren, Kenneth Barns, Dedric Moses, Juanita Robinson, Martese Brown, Derreis Turner (Tiffany Clay), Shauna Turner, Marcus Brown (Omessa Varnado), Quentin Turner (Alicyn Santos), Deidre (a special angel), Bonita Glasco, and Erin Stevenson; as well as a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

Delores will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. To know her was truly to love her.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 1726 15th Street, Gulfport. Friends may visit beginning at 12:30 p.m. A graveside service will follow at Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens in Long Beach.
