Dennis Joseph Byrne lost his battle with Parkinson on July 2, 2016.
He fought Parkinson with dignity and never complained of suffering. He was always looking forward and focused on what he could do. His greatest joy was derived from loving his family and enjoyed spending time with them, even his Granddog Sophie who would perform tricks and comfort him. Dennis enjoyed talking to anyone about his military service, the places he traveled to, and his family. He was a lifelong Catholic and enjoyed visiting and praying with Father Tommy.
He was a native of Cumberland, MD. Dennis proudly served in the United States Navy for twenty years and retired in Gautier, MS. He was married to Darlene Byrne.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother, John and Rosemary Byrne, and son, Donald Byrne.
His survivors include his daughter, Christy (Steve) Landrum, granddaughters, Marilyn and Jeanette “Toni” Landrum, and grandson, Hagen Byrne; sisters, Patricia Shanholtz of Vancleave, MS; Rose Richards of Cumberland, MD; Christine (Gary) Holland of Dayton, OH, and nieces and nephews, Jackie, Brian, Dennis John, Tricia, Melissa and Catherine and great nieces and nephews.
On Monday, July 11, there will be a 2:30 pm Graveside Service in Biloxi National Cemetery.
The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
