Dirkje "Ditte" Holland

Dirkje “Ditte” Holland, age 85, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 19,2025.

She was born in Amsterdam during WW II where she grew up and lived until meeting her husband Ray, a US Air Force Airman. While being the spouse of an Airman, she spent a majority of her time raising her 2 children, Paul and Mieke, and working with preschool children at the multiple bases where the family was stationed. After settling in Gulfport in 1980, she worked throughout the community, finally retiring from the gift shop at the George Ohr Museum. Ditte was a long-time member of Handsboro Methodist Church, The Red Hat Society and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority where she spent time helping with altruistic causes including the church food bank.

Ditte was preceded in death by her daughter Mieke, sisters, Joke and Greta, and parents Arie and Mina. She is survived by her husband Ray, son Paul and his wife Nancy, grandchildren Patrick, Jason, Nicholas and Sarah, great grandchild Belle and many nieces and nephews in Virginia, West Virginia, Florida and the Netherlands.

There will be no services at this time.
