Donal McLean “Mac” Snyder III, age 54, of Diamondhead, Mississippi, passed away on October 7, 2025, at Slidell Memorial Hospital after a courageous year-long battle with cancer. He was surrounded by love and will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend. To those closest to him, he was their Superman.
Mac was born on June 8, 1971, in Biloxi, Mississippi, to Donal M. Snyder Jr. and Pamela Snyder. He graduated with two bachelor’s degrees—one in Finance from the University of South Alabama in 1994 and another in Physics from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2013.
Mac’s professional life was as multifaceted as he was. He began as a bank manager in South Florida, where he took pride in mentoring his team and helping them grow professionally. He also worked as an advertising agent for K99 and later joined John C. Stennis Space Center, where he analyzed pressure systems in support of rocket engine test programs.
Always eager to learn and improve the world around him, Mac achieved an advanced certification in scuba diving. He loved to cook and passed that passion on to his children. He taught his wife how to sail and how to drive a stick shift—skills he delighted in sharing. In recent years, Mac and his wife took up hiking together, embracing nature and each other. His generosity, curiosity, and love for his family were constant threads throughout his life.
Mac was preceded in death by his grandparents, Audrey and Donal M. Snyder Sr.
He is survived by his loving wife, Karma K. Snyder; his children, Amy N. Snyder and Ian M. Snyder; his parents, Donal M. Snyder Jr. and Pam Snyder; and his brothers, Joseph Snyder and Thomas Snyder.
