Donald “Don” Clyde Stewart, Sr., age 86, of D’Iberville, MS, passed away on Friday, February 4, 2022 in Gulfport, MS.

Don was born in Shades Mountain, AL on November 14, 1935. He lived a full life of service, friendship and love. He was an engaged citizen, committed friend and a devoted husband to his wife, Ima.

After a rambunctious youth, Don enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served honorably and faithfully for 22 years from1955 to 1977 and retired as Master Sergeant. While serving he was awarded with the Bronze Star, Vietnam Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Ribbon, RVN Gallantry Cross, USAF Longevity Service Ribbon, Air Force Commendation Ribbon, ASAF Small Arms Expert Ribbon, Army Good Conduct Ribbon and Vietnam Campaign Ribbon.

Don built multiple successful careers, first in service to his country and then through business. He worked at Alabama Power Company from '83-'88 and taught at John Pope Vocational School from '78-'83.

During his spare-time, Don enjoyed motorcycles, mountain biking, road biking, hiking, fishing and collecting. He cherished his animals and they sure loved him in return. He was generous with his time, resources and attention, a man that was always on the lookout for those in need. He and his wife Ima had a beautiful romance filled with adventure, travel and most importantly love. He gave Ima some of her happiest moments and always sought her comfort and care above his own. He will surely be missed and always remembered.
