Don was very proud of his family and talked about them to everyone. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing, hunting and riding his motorcycle. He preferred warm weather and moved to Mississippi with his beloved wife Sandy. He was thrilled to be able to enjoy the abundance and availability of the local seafood along with the high temperatures. His favorite thing was watching the sunset over the Gulf. Weekends would find him on his motorcycle, on his boat fishing or traipsing through the forest searching for Bambi. He loved his dogs and always had to have at least one in the home. Their dachshund mix, Peanut, was a new addition to the family whom he fell immediately in love with. He also liked to prove other people wrong when they told him he couldn't do something. He was told he couldn't make a cake, so he baked and decorated a Raggedy Ann cake that shocked everyone with how beautifully it turned out.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Donald F. Mayberry & Helen Mayberry; his wife-Rohima Jean Mayberry; and a brother, Dennis Mayberry.
