Donna Jean (Bagby) Starr

Donna Jean (Bagby) Starr, 70, of Biloxi, MS died on April 10, 2026, at her home.

Donna was born June 3, 1955, in St Joseph Missouri. Her parents Charles and Eva Pauline Bagby. She grew up in northwest Missouri and graduated from Ashland High School in 1974. Upon graduation she began a life of service to help the sick, starting as a candy striper (CNA). Eventually gaining her nursing degree in 1988. Throughout her life she called many places home, some near and some far. She spent time overseas in Germany before returning state side to reside in Ft Hood Texas. She continued her life of service by being a labor and delivery person at a hospital in Texas. She eventually ended up on the West coast helping bring life into this world. She eventually returned closer to her roots in the Midwest to begin the longest chapter of her life, her career for the Department of Defense. Serving the ones who served. She spent 20 years of her career at Irwin army community hospital. Ultimately training both new doctors and nurses. She was one of the front runners and creators of urgent care clinics in Junction City. She retired from her time as a nurse and from the Department of Defense. The golden years of her life she always wanted to spend on the coast, enjoying the cool breeze, the sand and sun. She was a determined woman and did just that. She relocated to Biloxi Mississippi to enjoy her golden years. She spent time doing what she truly enjoyed, listening to classic rock, 90s country and baking oatmeal cranberry pecan cookies for all the friends she had made in her new location. She will always be remembered as a strong, caring, compassionate, and determined person. A person who spent their life caring for others. Bringing life into this world and holding hands as lives ended. Tending to family's as loved ones had passed. Hearing first cries and final breaths. Truly a life well lived and filled with experience. Both joy and pain. A life fulfilled.

She is predeceased by her parents, Charles Lee and Eva Pauline (Reinke) Bagby; her siblings, Michael Edward Bagby, MSGT (Ret) Everett Richard Bagby, and Barbra Lee (Bagby) Osborne.

Donna is survived by her children, Sabrina Rene (Kinsland) and Robert Feathers of Biloxi, MS and Travis Lee and Rachel Kinsland of Junction City, KS; brother, Walter Ray "Skip" and Rhonda Bagby of Springville, Al; grandkids, Jachob Aaron Kinsland and Damion Michael Kinsland of Junction City, KS, Bryce Lane and Chase Miller of Biloxi, MS; one great granddaughter, Elenore Diane Wilson of Junction City, KS, plus her beloved dog, Suzy.

A private wake will be held on April 16,2026.
