Dorothy Dale Sanchez Russell, a native of New Orleans, LA, and a resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast since March, 1969, died Monday, January 17, 2005 at Memorial Hospital at Gulfport. She was a pioneer antique dealer and she was of the Christian faith. Dale was preceded in death by her father, Fernand William Sanchez, Sr. of New Orleans, LA; her mother, Dorothy Marie Hereford Sanchez of New Orleans, LA; her brother, Thomas Percy Hereford Sanchez of Gulfport, MS; and her great-grandson, Michael William Gage Harrison of Biloxi. She is survived by her devoted husband, Gerod Algene Russell, Sr. of Gulfport; her son, Terrance Michael Lester of Gulfport; two daughters, Sherian Lizabeth Kemp and her husband, David of Saucier and Sandy Sue Stockman and her husband, Tom of Diamondhead; two step-sons, Gregory Lavelle Russell and wife, Lisa of Long Beach; and Gerod (Roddy) Algene Russell, Jr. and wife, Lucy of Gulfport; five natural grandchildren, Shane, Heath, Chrissy, Tera, and Tom, (Traye); and three step-grandchildren, Bryce, Olivia and Tyler Russell; six natural great-grandchildren, Dylan, Tristan, Kayden, Laura, Rylan, and Kailei; and nine step-great-grandchildren; a brother, Fernand William Sanchez, Jr. and wife, Helen of Boston, MA; two sisters, Rai Lynne Jarabica of Mandeville, LA and Karen Gayle Lodrigues of New Orleans, LA; many nieces and nephews and cousins and her godson, William Bruce Firshing of New Orleans, LA. Dale was a graduate of Meadows-Draughon Business College, New Orleans, LA and was a previous owner of Coast T.V. Cable, Inc., Diamondhead T.V. Cable, Inc. She is the owner of Create-A-Book Storybooks. Dale has worked for several charitable carnival organizations, Long Beach Carnival Association as co-team captain, ad chairman, Board of Directors, and Grand Duchess, 1974. For Merry Makers Carnival Association of Ocean Springs, she served as secretarytreasurer, historian, and was their 1993 Carnival Queen. Dale has been a member of the National Skeet Shooting Association since 1974. The wake will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2005 from 6 until 8 P.M. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport. The funeral service will be Friday, January 21, 2005 at 10:00 A.M. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Curt Moore, officiating. Burial will be at the St. Louis Cemetery # 3, New Orleans, LA in the "Landry" family tomb, Magdelan Alley, on Friday January 21, 2005 at 2:00 P.M.
