Dorothy Walters

Mrs. Dorothy Jean Upton Walters, age 63, of Ocean Springs, MS., died Wednesday, February 2, 2005, in Ocean Springs. Mrs. Walters was a native of Pelahatchie, MS. She had been a coast resident for the past 20 years and traveled with her husband, Jerry, for 23 years while he served in the military. She was very active with officers wives organizations and also devoted much of her time to volunteer work. Mrs. Walters was of the Baptist faith She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Elna Upton, a brother, Cecil F. Upton, Jr., and a sister, Baby Upton. Mrs. Walters is survived by her husband of 45 years, Jerry Walters of Ocean Springs, MS., two daughters, Cynthia L. Walters Allman and husband, John, of Ocean Springs and Pagette M. Walters Chilcott and husband, Michael, of Atlanta, GA., one son, Jerry A. Walters, II and wife, Allyson, of Vancleave, MS., five sisters, one brother, seven grandsons, two granddaughters, one great-grandson and one great-granddaughter. Visitation will be on Monday, February 7, 2005, from 2-3 P.M. followed by a 3:00 P.M. Memorial Service, all at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home.
