Douglas Howard

Douglas Howard, age 92, of Gulfport, passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, peacefully at home.

Douglas was born on August 27, 1933, in Macon, GA. He retired from Bell South after 20+ years of service. He also retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Tech Sergeant. Douglas loved reading and listening to Hank Williams.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bennie T. Howard and Ethel Horn Howard; brother, Farrell Howard; sisters, Velma Birch and Sarah Teets.

Survivors include his loving wife of 71 years, Margaret Joan Howard; son, Jeffrey D. Howard; daughter, Cherie Lynne Phillips; and 3 grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Vital Caring Hospice and friends and neighbors for their care and support over the past couple of years.

A private burial will be held at Biloxi National Cemetery. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport is honored to serve the Howard family.
