Earl Galen Taylor, 68, of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
He was born on May 12, 1958, in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, to Albert Earl Taylor and Sheila Taylor.
Earl proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard from 1978 to 1984. During his service, he worked as an Aviation Survival Swimmer and Aviation Maintenance Technician, dedicating himself to protecting and serving others. He was honorably discharged and received several commendations, including the Coast Guard Good Conduct Medal and Coast Guard Unit Commendation Ribbon. His courage, selflessness, and commitment to helping others remained evident throughout his life.
He was a loving father and proud papa who treasured his family above all else. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially fishing and hunting, and loved making memories with those he loved most. Even through life’s challenges, he carried a courageous spirit, an infectious laugh, and a warm smile that brought comfort and joy to everyone around him. His love, strength, kindness, and gentle spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Earl was preceded in death by his father, Albert Earl Taylor; and grandson, Preston Taylor.
He is survived by his daughter, Sarah Taylor (Justin Samples); sons, Albert Taylor and Mitchell Taylor (Charleena Rogers); sisters, Sheresa (Jim) Vanantwerp and Roxanna (Mike) Bennett; brothers, Larry (Iris) Taylor, Raemon (Mecola) Taylor, and Randy (Susan) Taylor; grandchildren, Kayden Rogers and Kinsley Taylor; and his mother, Sheila Taylor.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Ocean Springs. Friends may visit one hour prior. A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, June 22, 2026 at the Biloxi National Cemetery.
