Edna Tuten

Edna Tuten, age 66, went to join our Savior Lord Jesus in heaven on March 8, 2016 (her 46th wedding anniversary). Edna was born in Mt. Olive, NC to Craven and Edith Sutton, but was a lifelong resident of Ocean Springs, MS. She graduated with honors from USM with a BS in Special Education and then a MS in Elementary Education. Edna taught school in Lucedale, MS then moved to Harrison County finishing out her career at Three Rivers Elementary. She loved her students and she was loved by them. She is preceded in death by her father; her youngest brother, John; and her grandson, Draik Tuten. Edna is survived by her husband, Steve Tuten; her son, Joseph and his wife Rachel; her mother, Edith; her brothers, William, Ben and CL Sutton. She had a multitude of aunts, her in-laws, mother, Cora; sister, Pam; brother, Sid and his wife Carol, a nephew, Hayden; and two nieces, Jennifer and Erin Tuten. Edna loved every one of them and she will be missed dearly. Visitation will be held at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Sunday, March 13, 2016 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Graveside Services will be held at Biloxi National Cemetery on Monday, March 14, 2016 at 11:00 am.
