July 15, 1939 — December 6, 2025

Ocean Springs

Edwina Harrison Bradley, lovingly known as “Winnie,” went to her heavenly home on Saturday, December 6, 2025. She was 86 years old and resided in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, where she had lived since 2002 after relocating from Natchez to be closer to her family.

Born in Jackson, Mississippi, on July 15, 1939, Edwina was the daughter of Edgar Thomas Harrison and Alfreda Corley Harrison. She graduated from Natchez High School in 1958 and continued her education at Millsaps College, majoring in Education. She left Millsaps prior to graduation to marry her husband, Roland Bradley. Together they built a loving family and later moved to Natchez, where Edwina worked and owned Pharsalia Grocery before beginning a long and successful career with McRae’s Department Stores. For more than 20 years, she managed the children’s department, earning recognition in the Pace Setter and Presidents Club before retiring to care for her husband during his illness.

Edwina was a devoted member of Lovely Lane United Methodist Church for over 40 years. After moving to Ocean Springs in 2002, she began working at St. Paul Pre-School, where she adored teaching and nurturing young children—work that brought her tremendous joy. Former students often greeted her warmly as “Ms. Winnie,” a nickname she cherished.

Throughout her life, Edwina found great happiness in traveling with her family and friends to the Smoky Mountains, Disney World, the beach, Hawaii, and many other destinations. She was active in numerous church ministries including the Shoebox Ministry, Koinonia Circle, and the Halfway Home Sunday School class, where she formed many treasured friendships. She later joined Ocean Springs United Methodist Church and continued her service through the Joy Circle and other outreach projects.

Edwina’s greatest joys were being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She delighted in cooking for her family—especially Sunday dinners, Christmas treats, and her famous chocolate pies. She also tended lovingly to her potted plants and flowers, many of which she nurtured for years. As the matriarch of the family, she ensured that no one ever felt forgotten or alone.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 40 years, Roland Bradley; her brother, Tommy Harrison; and her son, Jeffrey Bradley.

Edwina is survived by her daughters, Stephanie Stein (Paul) and Amy Bradley; her granddaughters, Savannah Stein Alvarez (Raelly) and Cameron Stein; her great-grandson, Ezra Alvarez; and her great-granddaughter, Azalea Alvarez. She is also survived by her niece, Jill Harrison Scruggs of Charlotte, North Carolina, and her nephew, Callon Harrison of Natchez, Mississippi.

Services will be held at Ocean Springs United Methodist Church on Saturday, December 13, 2025. Visitation will be from 10:00–11:00 a.m., with a memorial service beginning at 11:00 a.m.
