Eleanor Toombs Shuman

Eleanor Toombs Shuman, 87, of Las Vegas, died Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at the Charleston Ridge Seniors' Home in Las Vegas. She was born in Gulfport, was a former longtime resident of the coast and a resident of Las Vegas for five and a half years. She was a graduate of Gulfport High School and she was Catholic. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry I. Toombs, Sr. and Linnie Parker Toombs; and a sister, Louisa Aikin. Mrs. Shuman is survived by her husband, Fred L. Shuman, Jr. of Las Vegas; two sons, Fred L. Shuman, III of Kingman, Arizona and Martin I. Shuman (Sharon) of Las Vegas; a brother, Henry I. Toombs, Jr. of Fort Worth, TX; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. The funeral service will be held Friday, April 1, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport where friends may visit beginning at 1:00 p.m..
