Elizabeth "Lisa" Ann Conners

Elizabeth “Lisa” Conners, age 54, a longtime resident of New Orleans passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022 in Ocean Springs.

Lisa as she was best known was born on June 26, 1968 in Buford, South Carolina but grew up in Ocean Springs and after high school moved to New Orleans. Many knew Lisa as she was a fixture at Latin’s Hand in the French Market, working at the popular store for over 25 years. Lisa was a bright light, an encourager, and a friend to any and all who crossed her path.  Lisa enjoyed everything New Orleans from the festivals to the delicious food, to the entertainment, and without a doubt Lisa was always ready for a good time.  Mardi Gras was Lisa’s favorite time of the year and a moment never to be forgotten was when Lisa was crowned Queen of Krewe of Dreux in 2012.  Lisa loved and cared for animals and had many that she tended to over the years. She will be missed dearly.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Dan Leonard and Delta Maddox Kelley and Irving and Mary Jackson Malone. 

Lisa leaves behind her husband and best friend, Steve Conners of New Orleans; parents, Leonard and Joyce Kelley of Ocean Springs; brother, Joey (Leslie) Kelley of Ocean Springs; sister, Connie Tartini of Philadelphia PA; nieces, Caroline and Emma Tartini; and nephews, Michael Tartini and Jacob Kelley; extended family; and beloved friends from Ocean Springs to New Orleans who were incredibly special to her.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the ASPCA or a local animal shelter in memory of Lisa. 

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home in Ocean Springs.  Friends may visit beginning at 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park.
