Elizabeth Louise "Liz" Albert Sturtevant Baker, 86, of Biloxi, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Liz was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose kindness, strength, and dedication to others touched many lives. She retired after 30 years as a school bus driver for the City of Biloxi, where she was known for her care and commitment to the children she transported each day.

A woman deeply involved in her community, Liz was a member of the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, she served as Past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Fellowship Chapter #388, she served for many years as Mother Advisor to the Order of Rainbow for Girls in Biloxi. She was a member of the Harrison County Republican Women, the Fleur de Lis Society (French Club) in Biloxi, a Girl Scout leader in Biloxi for many years, as well as a Band Booster for the Biloxi High Indian Band. Her guidance, friendship, and service left a lasting impact on generations of young women and fellow community members.

Liz was born on October 20, 1939, in Biloxi, Mississippi, to Edwin and Elizabeth Albert.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Elizabeth Albert; her husbands, Sidney J. Sturtevant and Pharoah Baker; her daughter, Mildred Marie "Millie" Sturtevant; her son-in-law, Harold Rushing; and her brothers, Wilson Albert and Wildon Albert.

She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Jo Rushing of Latimer and Penny Payne of Biloxi; her son-in-law, Greg Payne of Biloxi; her grandson, Sidney Rushing (Paula) of Pass Christian; her granddaughter, Ashley Rushing Guice (John) of Latimer; and her cherished greatgrandchildren, Piper Rushing, Skylar Rushing, Kade Guice, Fisher Guice, and Cole Guice. She is also survived by her beloved grand-godsons, Dalton Bounds and Cavan Bounds; her nephews, Wilson Albert (Theresa) of Holden, Louisiana; David Albert of Jacksonville, Florida; Paul Albert and Sherry Albert; as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews, including Sarah Albert Blount, Laura Albert, Martha Albert Bonnett, David Albert Jr., and Zach Albert.

Liz's legacy of love, resilience, faith, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Lectors are Greg Payne, Sidney Rushing and Ashley Rushing. Pall Bearers are Sidney Rushing, John Guice, William Tillman, Daniel Bounds, Michael Hart and Danny Hart.

A wake from 5:00pm until 7:00pm, followed by an Eastern Star Funeral Service at 7:00pm will be held on Monday, June 22, 2026, at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home on Pass Road in Biloxi, MS. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Biloxi, MS. Friends may visit from 10:00am until 11:00am. Interment will follow at Southern Memorial Park.

Immediately following the burial, a reception will be held at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue, Biloxi, MS.
