Ella Cospelich Lenaz, age 98, of Gulfport, died Monday, March 31, 2014 in Long Beach.
She was born in Bay St. Louis and was a lifelong resident of the Gulf Coast. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church and attended St. Thomas Catholic Church. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion. She was the recipient of the Voluntary Service Certificate by the Department of Veterans Affairs in appreciation of over 18,000 hours and 22 years of volunteer service in the Voluntary Service Program.
She loved going to Ship Island with the Skrmetta family on the excursion boat.
Mrs. Lenaz was preceded in death by her husband, Harold W. Lenaz; a daughter, Charlotte Ann Lenaz Rhodus; son-in-law, Dr. Ray H. Stewart; four sisters, Elsie Forrester, Gertrude C. Henry, Roselie C. Lucy, Nellie C. Floyd; two brothers, Matthew Cospelich and Manley Cospelich
She is survived by her daughter, Garnett Stewart of Long Beach; her son, Garron Lenaz of Gulfport; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 P.M., Thursday, April 3, 2014 at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Long Beach where friends may visit beginning at 11:00 a.m.
Interment will follow at DeLisle Cemetery.
