Ellen Andre Stewart

Ellen Andre Stewart 70, of Gulfport died Thursday, November 26, 2015 in Gulfport. Mrs. Stewart was a lifelong resident of Gulfport and a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Gulfport. She was a graduate of Gulfport High School and attended USM where she was a member of Kappa Delta. She was previously very active in the Girl Scouts. A member of the Gulfport Yacht Club, she was an accomplished sailor and sailing instructor. In 1970, she was a member of GYC Sailing Team that won the Knost Regatta in Pass Christian. Mrs. Stewart was preceded in death by her husband, David Roy Stewart; her parents, Robert M. Andre and Ida Sue Brown Andre; her brother, Bobby Andre; and a cousin, David Roy Andre. Survivors include a cousins, Stephen L. Andre, her caregiver. The funeral service will be Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th St. Gulfport, where friends may visit one hour before the service. Interment will in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Being a lover of cats, Ellen prefers memorials to Humane Society of South Mississippi, 2615 25th Ave, Gulfport, MS 39501.
