Elsie M. Hoppner

Elsie M. Hoppner, age 89, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025.

Originally born in Jasper, AL, Mrs. Hoppner moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast when she was 18 years old. It was there she met her husband Anton who was a service member in the United States Air Force. Together they lived in many places in and outside of the US before finally settling back in Ocean Springs. She loved to travel and was an avid dog lover with a particular fondness for Dachshunds. Mrs. Hoppner was devoted to her family and was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Anton Hoppner; her parents, William and Sara McCarty; and her six siblings, Mae, Thomas, Hazel, Louise, Jean and Jetta.

Mrs. Hoppner is survived by her two sons, Mark Hoppner and Derek (Becky) Hoppner; her four grandchildren, Karen (Ian) Fountain, Anthony (Becca) Hoppner, Jacob Hoppner and Kaylee Hoppner; her five great-grandchildren, Allie Andres, Olivia Fountain, Clara Fountain, Ian Fountain, Jr. and William Hoppner; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Porter Avenue in Ocean Springs on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at 1:00 pm. Friends may visit from 12:00 pm until service time. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park.
