Elton "Cotton" Ladner, 84 years old, of Pass Christian, died Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at St. Joseph Hospice.

He was born April 23, 1941, to Curvis Ladner and Aline Depreo Ladner. He graduated from Harrison Central High School where he played basketball for the Rebels. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church of Dedeaux. He was a self-taught carpenter who spent his entire life not only building foundations for homes but sharing his talent with his son and many of his nephews. His fun loving and carefree disposition brought many laughs as he was always the life of the party. He never met a stranger and was always ready to lend a hand to those in need. He will be missed by all who loved him.

Elton was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Travis Ladner; sisters, Faye Hutchinson, Dorothy Cuevas, Elaine Moran and Sandra Caccioppo; and brothers, Harris, Larry and Jimmy Ladner.

Survivors include a sister, Barbara Williams; his son, E. Jeffrey Ladner; daughters, Kitzie (Cecil) Necaise, Sheryl (Durel) Levron; daughter-in-law, Denise Ladner; step daughter Dori (Ramiro) Vazquez; grandchildren, Erin (Tyler) Amacker, Brett (Ashley) Ladner, Casey (Haley) Ladner, Lauryn (Sebastian) Walton, Nicholas (Natalie) Ladner, Jonathan (Heather) Levron, Waylon (Courtney) Ladner, Shalyn (Rifki) Erdiana, Devin Levron, Nicholas (Carley) Necaise and Ryeann Necaise, Luco, Nico and Bella Vazquez; great grandchildren, Alivia and Kaden Amacker - Chloe, Claire, Callie, Hayden, Caselyn, Bryson, Layla and Levi Ladner - Kenzo, Quinncy and Conrad Erdiana - Ricky and Elijah Walton - Evelyn Levron - Bryer, Greyson and Taylin Griffin - Casen Necaise and many nephews and nieces.

The family will hold a memorial service at a later date.
