Ethel Mae Marie Broussard Trahan, 78, passed away into eternal life on July 29, 2021. She was laid to rest with her beloved Husband, Wilbur on August 6, 2021.
Born in Cameron, LA, to Edna and Clive Broussard. She was raised by mother Edna and Joseph Conner. She was a graduate of LaGrange High School. Her siblings were Clyde Broussard, Betty Leger, Mary LeDoux, and survived by Bessie Broussard. She was a dedicated wife serving alongside her husband during his 30 years of military service as a US Navy Seabee. She was a long time resident of Gulfport, MS. She was a former slots department employee for the Grand Casino Gulfport prior to Hurricane Katrina.
A mother of four, she is survived by daughters Alena Trahan, Mary Malllete, Kathryn Trahan, and a son, Michel Trahan. She has 8 grandchildren Jessica, Kyle, Sean (Alena), Tabitha, Victoria (Mary), and Mark, Meagan (Michel) and 8 great grandchildren.
She is survived by brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Pat and Gale Hebert,of Grand Lake, LA, a sister-in-law, Debra Atkinson of Lafayette, LA,12 nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and nephews.
A loving mother, she helped them develop and comforted her children raising them abroad during the challenges of military deployments within the Panama Canal Zone, island of Guam, and military life. She was an avid reader and spoke proudly about her Cajun heritage.
Mrs. Trahan was honored and buried at the Biloxi Veterans Cemetery, Section II, site 1084.
