Eva Walsh passed away on October 28, 2016, at the age of 88, after a long and adventurous life.
Eva was born in Oak Grove, LA on July 5, 1928, to Esther and Marvin Thompson. She was one of seven children including Winifred, Etoil, Noble, Bobby, Clinton and Norman. Eva met her husband-to-be, Fondren Walsh, in Jackson, MS. They married in 1953 and had two children, Steven and Kimberly. Eva and Fondren loved their military life and traveled worldwide. The family lived in Virginia, Ecuador, Texas, Italy, Alabama, and Belgium. Eva worked as a Civil Service employee for more than 30 years and loved gardening, hiking, skiing, camping and traveling the World.
She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly and grandsons, Ian and Eric Walsh, of Mill Creek, WA, her granddaughter, Samantha Walsh, daughter-in-law, Ina Walsh, and many nieces and nephews.
Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Fondren, her Son, Steven, six brothers and sisters, and her parents.
A memorial service will be held on December 21 at 12:30 p.m. at the Pass Road Chapel of Bradford–O’Keefe Funeral Home. Friends may visit one hour prior. Eva will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Fondren, in the Biloxi National Cemetery. The public is welcome.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. The family wishes to extend special gratitude to the nurses and staff at Bay Cove Memory Care in Biloxi and Notre Dame Hospice, for their tender loving care of their Mother and Grandmother. Eva lived her final days in dignity, love and laughter, for which the family is eternally grateful.
