Evelyn Hopkins Armiger Gregory “Ebbie”, age 92, of Pass Christian, passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024 in Ocean Springs.
Evelyn was a long-time resident of Pass Christian. She was born on November 8, 1931 in Washington, D.C. to Lorin Hopkins and Marigold Umberger Armiger and was a graduate of Eastern High School. She was honored as 2018 Most Distinguished Church Women by ECW. Evelyn was a very involved member of Trinity Episcopal Church in the Pass, active in both the St. Martha and St. Monica Guild, as well as being voted to serve on the Trinity Vestry. She was involved as a volunteer at the Food Pantry, Art in the Pass, and the Pass Christian Yacht Regatta. Evelyn was an avid supporter of the Gulf Coast Boys and Girls Clubs. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend and will be missed immensely by the ones that knew her and were able to encounter just how pure her heart truly was.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Lew Gregory; her parents; and son-in law, Jim Allen.
Survivors include her children, Lorna Redding (Charlie), Richard Gregory, Janet Gregory-Allen, Nancy Russell (Neil), Ryan Gregory, Kenny Gregory (Susan), and Glenda G. Anderson (Danny); grandchildren, Julie, Howard, Laurie, Megan, Nancy, Chris, Becky, Missy, Shannon, Heather, Hutch, Christine (Zeke), Danny, Jr., and Kelly; great-grandchildren, Brayden, Kinley Anne, Brooklyn, Nick, Kayla, Maggie, Felix, Hazel, Stanley, Hank, Fiona, Benjamin, Bradley, Nick, Conner, Genavive, Aaron, Lauren, Brenden, Faith, Makayla, Chelsea, C.J., Nevaeh, Ryan, Taylor, Paxton, Earl, Declan, Jet, Marigold, Gage, Lucy, Layla, Liam, and Birdie; great-great-grandchildren, Bailey-Anne, Parker, and Hank; and sister, Helen Montfort.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 125 Church Street, Pass Christian, MS. Interment will follow at Live Oak Cemetery, Pass Christian, MS. Reception to follow inside Turtle Hall on the Coast Episcopal School Campus on Espy Avenue in Pass Christian, MS. Signs will be placed for Direction. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport is honored to serve the family of Evelyn Gregory.
