Fannie Beth Williams

Mrs. Fannie Beth Williams passed away in her sleep on Monday, May 16, 2016. She was born on January 14, 1925, in Eolo, Texas, to Loverd Lee Williamson and Annie Walker Williamson. Fannie was a joy to be with at all times. She travelled the world as an Air Force wife while raising two kids to believe anywhere and everywhere is home. She was a Texan by blood and Mississippian by choice. Fannie moved to Ocean Springs nine years ago to live with her daughter, Ann and son-in-law, Warren. Declaring that Ocean Springs was the greatest place, she enjoyed friends at the Senior Center in OS, the YMCA for pool and exercise, Tuesday night Bridge games and attained the name "Official Hugger of the Friendship Civic Club of Ocean Springs." She even modeled for the first time at the age of 87 for the Fashion Show. Fannie was optimistic, loyal, loved her kids unconditionally, loved her faithful son-in-law, Warren, daughter-in-law, Lori, and had a special love for Pam and Phil Hegwood and Debi Huff. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Thomas Williams, sister-and brother-in-law, Sallie and Jeff Fields and brothers-in-law, Sam Williams and Pete Aument. Survivors include her sister, Imogene Aument of Fayetteville, GA, daughter, Ann (Warren) Hegwood of Ocean Springs, MS, son, Thom (Lori) Williams of Chandler, AZ, grandchildren, Lee (Gerry) Adair, Holly (David) McRae, Andrew (Jasmin) Hegwood, Heather Williams and great-grandchildren, Madison, Colleen, Ethan, Chris, Brianna, Tommy, Sarah, Michael, Nicholas, Ryan and Grey. Visitation will be on Thursday, May 19, from 2pm-3pm, with a 3pm chapel service, all at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. Mrs. Williams will then be shipped to Austin, TX for burial. In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations be made to the Humane Society of South MS, 2615 25th Avenue, Gulfport, MS, 39501.
