Fern Spurlin

Fern Spurlin, 89, of Biloxi, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2025.

Born on January 26, 1936, in New Limerick, Maine, she was the beloved daughter of Leland and Ethel (Hand) Donahue.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 54 years, Philip Spurlin; her brothers, Robert and twin Frederick; her sister, Judith Cormier; and her daughter-in-law, Pamela Spurlin.

Fern is lovingly survived by her children: Philip Eugene Spurlin and Gale Spurlin (William) Tierce; her grandchildren: Christopher Philip Spurlin, Jacob Earl Spurlin, Catherin Renee Spurlin, and Patricia Lynn Stanfa; and her great-grandchildren: Harbor Philip Spurlin, Theodore Sage Ruddy, and Ryder Daniel Stanfa. She is also survived by her brothers, Kenneth and Linwood Donahue.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Gentiva Hospice, and especially to her dedicated caregivers Selena, Raven, and Reagan. Special thanks are also given to Dr. Shahin and the oncology team at Keesler Medical Center for their compassionate care.

To honor Fern’s wishes, a private family service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in her honor.
