Florian Kenneth Lamey age 62 passed away on Sunday, August 18th in Biloxi. He was born on his Father’s birthday on June 17, 1951 at Fort Sill in Lawton, OK, to Kenneth F. & Ramona Lamey.
He was preceded in death by his Mother Ramona; his paternal grandparents Florian & Dora Lamey; and his maternal grandparents Harold Snyder & Myrtle Barry.
He is survived by his Father, Kenneth Lamey of Biloxi; his daughter, Dora Gayle Lamey( fiancé Ruben Garza Jr.),of San Antonio, TX; his son, James(Jenny) Lamey of St. Hedwig, TX; his brothers, Mark Lamey of Biloxi, and Tim (Tina) Lamey of Knoxville, TN; his sisters, Lowana (Dave) Ratisher and Theresa Lamey all of Biloxi and Lisa (Brian) Balius of Cumming, GA; his aunt, Norma Jean Lamey of Biloxi; his grandchildren, Cory Lamey of San Antonio and Stacia & Kyle Lamey of St. Hedwig, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Florian served on the Biloxi Police Department as a Patrolman and a narcotics investigator, Operator of Enforcement Vessels with the Mississippi Bureau of Marine Resources and the Florida Marine Patrol, Crew Boat Captain with Southcoast Welding & Services, Owner/Operator of Professional Diving, Casino/Ships Security with the L A Cruise, Security Shift Supervisor with Casino Magic in Bay St. Louis and Director of Security, Risk Management, Safety and Workmen’s Compensation with Casino Magic in Biloxi. He was also a Steel Fabricator, Lift Boat Captain, Master Captain, Ship Fitter, Navy Certified Welder, Class A Crane Operator, world renowned karaoke singer and retired gigolo.
He was a Past President and Officer of the MS Gulf Coast Security Director’s Association, Officer of American Society for Industrial Security Chapter and Officer of Biloxi Bay Chamber of Commerce, Gulf Coast Risk Management Association, Knights of Columbus Council 1244 and the Towns around Biloxi Parrothead Club.
Visitation will be at Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home on Howard Avenue in Biloxi on Friday, August 23 from 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. with a memorial service at 6:30 p.m.
