Floyd Emile Brune, Jr., 79, of Biloxi, MS, died Friday, August 12, 2011, in Ocean Springs, MS. Floyd was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus, a Boy Scouts leader and chief and charter member of the Ft. Bayou Fire Dept. He retired from Ingall's Shipbuilding after 41 years of service and from the St. Martin School System after 13 years of service. He was also named Mr. St. Martin in 2008.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Rita Garcia; parents, Floyd E Brune, Sr. and Antonia Pavolini.
Survivors include his daughter, Maria Brune; sons, Floyd (Linda) Brune III, Michael (Amanda) Brune and Donald (Shari) Brune; sister, Betty Brune Bier; brother, Anthony Brune, Sr.; grandchildren, Elizabeth R. Brune, Thomas E. Brune, Linda D. Arthur, Jeffrey S. Brune, Tabitha A. Lane, Leticia M. Brune Stauber, Michael D. Jensen, Christopher S. Jensen and Tammy Michaels; great grandchildren, Brittney D. Brune, Damien M. Brune, Caden A. Arthur, Addison E. Arthur, Kaleb S. Brune, Makaylee M. Brune, Tylor R. Michaels and Allison D. Jensen.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home. There will also be a visitation on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until 10:40 a.m. with a procession following to St. Alphonsus Catholic Church for an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Crestlawn Memorial Park.
