Franklin Delano Vuyovich

Franklin Delano Vuyovich, 83, of Gulfport, MS passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 with his family at his side. Mr. Vuyovich served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years. After being employed with Liberty National Life Insurance for over 30 years, he retired to be at home with his wife. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church. Mr. Vuyovich loved golf and made sure his passion was passed on to his grandsons. His pride and joy were his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a great husband and father. Everyone loved him for his kindness and generosity. His sense of humor will surely be missed. He is preceded in death by his parents, Otto Mike and Marie Vuyovich; his siblings, Eddie Vuyovich, Maybelle Ibele, Dot Balius, Gloria Pyron, Marie Fayard, Arthur Vuyovich, Harold Vuyovich, Buddy Vuyovich and Althea Vuyovich; and his grandson, Frank Taylor. Mr. Vuyovich is survived by his wife of 60 years, Doris Collins Vuyovich; his daughter, Terri (Richard) Polovich; his grandson, Rhett (Jennifer) Taylor; his granddaughter, Alex Polovich; his great-grandchildren, Riana and Makenzie Taylor; his siblings, Shirley Davis, Jack (Louise) Vuyovich and George (Joan) Vuyovich. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. James Catholic Church on Friday, July 15, 2016 at 11:00 am. Friends may visit from 10:00 am until mass time. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
