He was born August 18, 1950 in New Orleans, LA to Johnnie Willis Fornea, Varnado, LA and Ada Mae Owens Jenkins, Franklinton, LA. Freddie grew up in Varnado, LA, and was drafted into the United States Army in June 1970 then was deployed to Vietnam in December that same year.
