Frederick Walker, Jr.

Mr. Fred G. Walker, Jr., 69, of Gulfport, MS died Thursday, January 13, 2005, in Biloxi. Mr. Walker was born in Gulfport and was a resident of the Handsboro Community. He was a graduate of Gulfport High School, attended MS State University and Harvard University where he received a degree in Business and Economics. He was a member of the Harvard Alumni Association. Mr. Walker was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and a member of Handsboro United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the National Mensa. Preceding Mr. Walker in death were his parents, Fred Walker, Sr. and Clara Eighmey Walker and a brother, Carl E. Walker, Sr. Survivors include his brother, Paul Walker, Sr. and his wife, Frances; a sister-in-law, Elaine Walker, three nephews, five nieces, three grandnieces and two grandnephews. Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 19, 2005, at 1 p.m. at the Handsboro United Methodist Church where friends may visit one hour before service time. Burial will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Handsboro United Methodist Church, 2333 Demaret Drive, Gulfport, MS 39507. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi is in charge of services.
